A new Test Center for O&K Antriebstechnik

1,100 square meters of most advanced equipment for testing planetary drives

Hattingen-Düsseldorf, 22 June 2012 – In the frame of a 2-day event, O&K Antriebstechnik, leading company of Carraro Group in design & manufacturing of planetary drives for mining excavators, heavy duty cranes and construction equipment machines, has inaugurated its brand new Test Center in Hattingen (Germany).

The new Test Center, covering 1,100 sqm of roofed area, is equipped with state of the art & most advanced technologies in hydraulic power testing, measurement equipment and analysis tools.

More in detail, the new installed Powertest Benches have capacity for testing drives up to 5000 kNm output torque; structural testing can be carried out also on special pulsation test benches, creating loads, which are equivalent to the realistic use of a heavy duty mining or construction machine.

O&K Antriebstechnik is undoubtedly today the leader in high range drives for heavy duty machinery. The company, thanks to a consolidated know how since 50 years, and an engineering department focalized on planetary technologies, is capable to realize the biggest hydraulic driven planetary drives ever realized in the world, such as the F3000 (12 tons of weight) for huge 1500 ton mining crawler excavators with 3000 kNm output torque.

Already providing leading edge technology to the market, the characteristics of the new Test Center will enable further improvement and optimisation of planetary drives and guarantee technological leadership and success to the company.

“We’re proud to celebrate this new Test Center today with some of our major clients – said Giorgio Cucchi, COO of O&K Antriebstechnik – Our company, within the Carraro Group, is well known on the market for quality & technology. These are our guidelines, and this event represents a further step ahead in the proper direction to guarantee our partners the best solution to their expectations”.
