Carraro India is strengthened with Mazak

New equipment acquired to increase productivity and efficiency of the plant in Pune. For Indian plants an explosive growth is estimated over the next five years.

The industrial platform of Carraro Drive Tech strengthens its position in Asia thanks to the agreement with Mazak, global strategic supplier of machine tools. Eleven new centers have been purchased: two for Carraro China and nine intended to strengthen the plant of Carraro India.

These new machines will especially support India plant development process, which forecasts in the coming years a progressive growth in turnover and an improvement in margins due to the advancement of production flexibility and to the optimization of available resources.

Investments recently made refer to the development program established by the 3-year business plan, which foresees an increase in production capacity from all the areas once defined emerging, with a particular focus on the Indian units. They also strengthen the collaboration with Mazak, which becomes one of the most important suppliers of Carraro for that area.

The three Pune plants in the road map established will show a progressive increase in incidence in the Group's production share by 13% (28% is the total weight of emerging markets). As regards Carraro Drive Tech, the weight of India is expected to reach 22%. The two Indian plants of the Group (Carraro India and Turbo Gears) reached a turnover of 131 million euro in 2011, with over eleven hundred employees, and indicate an estimated 2017 target of 350 million euro revenue.
