SIAP invests in the future: new company canteen inaugurated as part of a major plant development programme
New facilities dedicated to people’s wellbeing, operational efficiency and the quality of the working environment
Maniago, September 23, 2026 – With the inauguration of its new company canteen, SIAP, the Carraro Group’s centre of excellence for high-quality components and highly complex gear manufacturing, adds a significant milestone to the development journey that has been transforming the entire facility in recent years. This initiative reflects the Company’s commitment to investing simultaneously in industrial growth and in the enhancement of its people.
"The inauguration of the new canteen represents far more than the opening of a new service. It symbolises a growth journey that continues through tangible investments in people, production facilities and the working environment – commented Tomaso Carraro, Vice Chairman of the Group & SIAP Chairman – Over the past years, this path has supported SIAP’s development and is now moving forward with new initiatives and projects, reaffirming the Company's determination to build its future through innovation, efficiency and a strong focus on the quality of work".
The new facility, complete with a fully equipped kitchen and state-of-the-art systems, has been designed to provide employees with a modern and functional service aligned with the needs of an organisation that continues to evolve. This significant investment forms part of a broader programme aimed at improving production areas, support services and the overall usability of the industrial site.
Alongside the new canteen, the project included the construction of additional restroom and changing-room facilities dedicated to female employees, both within the machining areas and the heat-treatment departments, further confirming the Company’s commitment to inclusion, comfort and the wellbeing of all the people working at SIAP.
Investments have also focused on the plant’s industrial infrastructure, with the expansion of areas dedicated to machining operations, heat-treatment processes and support activities, including the oil storage facility. This initiative, which received funding from the European Union under the NextGenerationEU programme, enables production infrastructures to be aligned with the Company’s growth targets and operating volumes, ensuring greater efficiency and improved working conditions.
Significant improvements have also been made to site accessibility and traffic management. The redevelopment of the plant entrances has been completed on both the northern side, from Via Monfalcone, and the southern side, through a rationalisation of traffic flows that directs heavy vehicles to the southern access point. This solution enhances safety while helping reduce traffic along Via Monfalcone.
As part of its ongoing commitment to people and to more sustainable mobility, SIAP also collaborated with the NIP Consortium to develop a new covered pedestrian and cycling pathway linking the company parking areas to the plant, providing employees with safer and more convenient daily access to the facility.
The project also includes the creation of new green areas at the Via Monfalcone entrance and a comprehensive renewal of the industrial site external appearance. Today, the facility presents a more modern, orderly and consistent image, fully reflecting the Company's ongoing evolution and future ambitions.
