Carraro India – Plant 1, Plant 2, R&D Center
Carraro's presence in India dates back to 1997, when a joint venture was signed with one of India's largest industrial groups, Escorts Ltd, leading to the development of a project to establish a manufacturing center in the Ranjangaon (Pune) area. In 1999 the plant there officially began the production of axles and transmissions.
Consistently with the development of the market, Carraro's presence continued to grow and in 2005 a second production plant, specialized in the production of gears and components, was inaugurated in the same area.
Confirming the centrality of the Indian market, during 2006 Carraro developed important projects to expand its activities in the country, first with the acquisition of the entire capital of Carraro India and then with the creation in Pune of a new R&D center, Carraro Technologies India, dedicated to research and design activities for new products.
Today India, with more than 1,700 employees divided between the two production sites and the R&D Center, represents the Group's first industrial hub after Italy.
