Carraro Group and the Faculty of Engineering of Ferrara: first meeting to set up the collaboration project
One of the foremost aims of the partnership plan is the sharing of mechanical know-how and technological transfer between the company and the academic world. This new project will make it easier for specialised personnel to be selected to join the Group branches both in Italy and abroad, helping to raise the level of technological innovation of the products made.
Ferrara, August, 3 2021 – In recent days, a delegation from Carraro Group visited the labs of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Ferrara. Its aim was to boost the collaboration already established with the faculty (developed in particular with the acoustics and vibrations team), and define the cornerstones of specific industrial research and partnership projects within a long-term planning logic.
Andrea Conchetto, CEO of the Group, together with a considerable number of managers from R&D, Process Engineering and HR, visited not only the industrial engineering labs but also the Anechoic Chamber.
The welcome session and the start of work was attended by the professors representing the various work groups of the Engineering Faculty (Mechanical area), along with Prof. Michele Pinelli (the dean's Third Mission delegate), Giada Trisolini (Ferrara Tecnopolo Manager), and Prof. Giorgio Dalpiaz (Deputy Director of the Engineering Faculty and scientific manager of the MechLav Advanced Mechanics lab).
“Constant, structured collaboration with the Engineering Faculty of Ferrara – explained Andrea Conchetto, CEO of Carraro Group – is an excellent opportunity for us to strengthen our know-how thanks to research projects that focus highly on specific areas. We're also sure that the consolidation of this collaboration can bring advantages to the university too, in terms of technological transfer from a group like ours that's part of highly complex international business scenarios.”
“For us, significant cooperation with prestigious industrial names like Carraro Group – added Emiliano Mucchi, professor of Applied Mechanics of Machines and placement delegate at the University of Ferrara, and organiser and promoter of the meeting – means a great chance to grow but, above all, it's vital for reinforcing our relations with the business world and laying the foundations for important projects that help make our area more competitive.”
More specifically, the agreement between Carraro Group and the Engineering Faculty of the University of Ferrara will focus mainly on the development of testing methods and reliable models of mechanical components for power transmission.
Alongside these projects, this partnership also represents a chance for the students of the Engineering Faculty of Ferrara. Carraro Group has, in fact, shown an interest in setting up research doctorates and taking on interns and doctoral candidates for specific tasks, confirming its will to invest not only in the expertise but also the upcoming new talents of Ferrara University.
