Carraro at Bauma 2025: Advanced Technologies Beyond the Boundaries of Mechanics
In line with the motto "Carraro Drives Energy," innovative solutions dedicated to the light construction equipment sector were presented in Munich
Munich, April 7, 2025 – Carraro returns to Bauma, the world's most important trade fair for the construction equipment sector, positioning itself as a comprehensive technological partner. On one hand, it presents a series of innovative solutions that combine mechanics and electronics, and on the other, it shares concepts that highlight the deep R&D expertise that allows the Group to offer a wide range of advanced engineering services.
Carraro once again opts for a stylistic and unconventional approach, more akin to a Salone del Mobile setup rather than a traditional industrial event. To enhance its narrative at Bauma, Carraro has chosen to focus on a welcoming environment with warm tones, featuring a mood that ranges from sandy hues to wood, enriched by accents of the traditional "Carraro red.", while simultaneously highlighting the technical content and key messages of the booth with the inclusion of photorealistic images in almost real dimensions.
Two Focus Areas
The Carraro 2025 stand features two main focus areas:
Focus 1: Driveline for compact wheel loaders up to 14 tons, consisting of two new axles (mod. 48.47 and 48.57) paired with two versions of the THE 260 transmission (one with a hydrostatic motor and one with an electric motor), which has garnered significant market interest since its official launch in 2022, thanks also to the collaboration with partner Danfoss.
Focus 2: The second exhibition area is dedicated to telescopic boom handlers and features a class 3 modular axle for machines with a lifting capacity of up to 12 klbs (mod. 46.44 M) paired with three possible transmission types: a TB172 HVT hydrostatic transmission, a TCH90 SD (Side Drive) torque converter transmission, and an eTB220 transmission suitable for an electric powertrain.
Each of these focus areas represents an entire family of new products and versions, offered complete with Carraro electronic control units (ECU) and inverters for electric drives.
This targeted selection of solutions presented in Munich once again demonstrates Carraro's ability to offer innovative and highly flexible responses to the diverse needs of the light construction equipment sector.
Not Just Drivelines
In addition to transmission systems, as per tradition, Bauma also features a selection of gears for off-highway applications produced by SIAP, the Carraro Group's center of excellence for high-quality components and complex gearing. Additionally, a dedicated showcase is reserved for synchronizers produced by Synchrotec, the joint venture between SIAP and Bhavani Industries, focused on the design, development, and production of this type of product for off-road vehicles.
A "Responsible" Stand
In line with the Carraro Social Responsibility path and the exhibition approach used in the past, the Carraro stand at Bauma 2025 was designed to be "low impact." Key elements of this approach include:
- Lighting: Only low-impact lighting fixtures, mostly LED technology, were chosen and applied following the "light only where needed" rule, avoiding significant energy waste. This way, the environments remained comfortable for visitors and the products were appropriately highlighted, but the excess light, sometimes typical of exhibition halls, was avoided. - Materials: The stand structure was designed to maximize the recyclability of construction materials, starting with canvas graphics that will find new life after the event and, thanks to a social enterprise, will be transformed into shoppers, backpacks, phone holders, and other gadgets. - Architecture: Once again, the entire stand project was conceived with a modular logic, and the structure is composed of elements that can be easily assembled without being damaged, ensuring reuse, and managed in the best possible way during handling, reducing volumes and logistical needs (both for road transport and the use of forklifts at the fair).
