Bauma 2022: Carraro confirms its leadership in the light construction equipment sector

An innovative range of modular technological solutions unveiled, featuring both electric and hydrostatic versions.

Munich, 24 October 2022 – Carraro is back at Bauma Munich, the world’s most important trade fair for the construction equipment sector, presenting its modular versions of drivelines, with rigid or steering axles and hydrostatic or electric transmissions to visitors.

Once again, the emphasis will be placed on Carraro’s 25 years-plus experience in this sector, developing and supplying transmission systems for electric drive material handling applications.

More specifically, three drivelines will be showcased at Bauma 2022, that perfectly exemplify the application needs of light construction equipment, in both hydrostatic and electric versions: one driveline for telescopic handlers, one for compact loaders and one featuring a versatile configuration - ideal for a compact excavator, or telescopic handler or compact loader

In detail, the solutions on show at Bauma have the following configurations:

Driveline for telescopic handlers

  • 46.28M front steering axle
  • THE260/2 Synchro flanged transmission with electric motor and hydrostatic transmission TB172HVT
  • 46.28M rear steering axle

Driveline for compact wheel loaders

  • 48.18M front rigid axle
  • TB172/2 Stop&Go hydrostatic transmission and eTB220 flanged transmission with electric motor
  • 48.18M rear rigid axle

Multipurpose driveline

  • 46.08M front steering axle
  • TB135C hydrostatic transmission
  • 46.08M rear steering axle
  • e46.08M electrified steering axle

Each of these drivelines is equipped with an inverter and a Carraro electronic control unit

The Carraro stand also has a section dedicated to its expertise in high-quality gears for off-highway applications, as well as a display of proprietary hardware and software, essential for managing customers’ drivelines

At Bauma, Carraro is also presenting a parallel-hybrid "P1" module for diesel engines, developed in collaboration with Kohler. This is an extremely interesting solution because it allows the performance of engines over 56kW to be guaranteed, but with a power unit consisting of downsized diesel engine and electric boost. The result is a lower impact of the aftertreatment system, and a reduction in consumption (fuel, AdBlue).
